“Spoil me with loyalty, I can finance myself.”
It’s simple. To empower female entrepreneurs.
What Motivates Me
When I was growing up no one ever said, “When you grow up, you can become a CEO.”
I took typing classes so I could, maybe if I was lucky, become a CEO’s secretary. Which I did, for many businessmen. Years of harassment ensued. I worked for a lawyer in 1991, so aware that I had no power in a man’s world, he would record documents for me to type up in my personal time, a job requirement. The dictation would start with sentences like, “I’m sitting out here on my balcony smoking a cigarette and thinking about what it would be like to have you sitting here on my lap with me.”
I took those tapes to a lawyer and after listening to them he said, “Well, look at you. You are wearing a tank top. Who would take you seriously?” That day I vowed to have my own company, make my own money and NEVER be stuck in a powerless situation again. It took me many years, but I got there.
Growing up I watched as my mother stayed trapped in one terrible marriage after another because she didn’t have the finances to get out. The men, who were horrible to her in the worst ways you could imagine, had her by her purse strings. She was stuck. They controlled her. She was powerless.
A few years ago, I was fortunate to have worked as an ambassador for Purple Purse, an organization that raises awareness and funds to help women escape abusive relationships. It became even more important to me to help women gain financial freedom.
“The number one reason domestic violence survivors stay or return to an abusive relationship is that they don’t have the financial resources to break free.” – purplepurse.com
I want every woman to feel in control of her own destiny. I want her to feel powerful and free. I want her to follow her passion. I want her to believe in herself and know that she is capable of accomplishing any dream she has for herself. I want to lift other women up, build them up and support them in any way I can. I want to be a part of helping their dreams come true.
Oh, and one more thing …
I’m also ridiculously passionate about social media.
I have been working in social media since 2006. Oh how everything has changed in 12 years!
I created Ooph.com in 2008, a hugely popular website for parents of teens. Through meticulous branding and social media calculation, I grew Ooph.com to a blog registering over one million clicks per year.
Ooph allowed me to begin my journey of social strategizing. I have spent years learning the nuances of each platform. How you grow and satisfy your followers on each platform is very diverse and is constantly changing. I spend time daily researching these ever changing platforms so my clients don’t have to.
In 2013 I merged my parenting blog with a lifestyle blog and so began MomSmack.com and my desire to teach other’s what I had learned over the years.
I began working with companies like yours to create their specific brand voice and to help them spread that message across their social media platforms while growing their following.
I look forward to working with you, creating your amazing brand voice and showing you how to use your social media platforms to get your voice heard, grow a profitable business and live an empowered life of financial freedom!
