Looking for an easy weeknight fall dinner?

This white bean chicken chili is full of all the fabulous flavors of regular chili, but lighter!

Chicken, white beans, corn and green chiles. Yes please! You can spice it up or down depending on who you are cooking for!

Garnish with cheddar cheese, avocado and sour cream.

Serve with a yummy fall salad and cornbread and you have the perfect easy weeknight meal. AND some serious comfort food.

Prefer a regular style chili? I’ll have that up for you Thursday!

Obsessed is a word thrown around a lot right now in the design space. Overused for sure.

Don't care ... I am obsessed and will ALWAYS be with crisp white ceilings and wood beams. OBSESSED.

This masculine base palette is one of my favorites

This masculine base palette is one of my favorites.

Touches of leather and tweed. The fabric adds the perfect texture. Marble gives it sophistication. Griege paints add warmth without being creamy or yellow.

Now to add pops of color that can be changed out seasonally or whenever the heck you feel like it. Pillows, throws, drapery and vases of whimsical flowers throughout.

What color would you add to this palette in your home? Pink? Blue? Green?

Last year we decided to get chickens and it was on

Last year we decided to get chickens and it was one of the best decisions! I had wanted them for-EVER but JJ kept giving me the hand.

Then the world fell apart and we needed to be more self sufficient so I finally got my way.

We have learned a lot about chickens over the last year. How to keep them entertained, what to feed them to increase egg production. That they Hi ALL THE TIME. I spent countless hours on the best bedding for the coop. I labored over it because smell and maintenance were a BFD. I chose hemp and it’s been amazing.

Things were pecking along and then SCREEEEEECH.

We have a brooder. She is absolutely convinced her eggs are going to produce babies. We have been working on it for MONTHS. Every morning we kick her out of the coop.

In the beginning that worked. Then it didn’t. Now she (Lafawnduh) just goes right back in as soon as we leave. That means we have to lock all the girls out to keep her out. (That’s her in photo one trying to get back in.)

This is seriously disrupting my egg production and I am not happy about it. (That’s all the girls in photo two … Esmerelda, Eleanor, Mary Jane and Lafawnduh.)

We are now leaving the laying box open and so far the other chickens have figured out how to fly in and lay and she hasn’t but this plan won’t work for long! (That’s Esmerelda in video. She has flown in and is laying. Not ideal.)

Simple Summer Coleslaw. Growing up we never had homemade coleslaw, but we ordered KFC bucket meals and those came with coleslaw and I LOVED it. As an adult, I wanted to create a similar coleslaw that was a little lighter.

My kids groaned as I placed it on the table the first time. “Ewwww, coleslaw,” they said. I responded with the same words I have repeated for 25+ years at the dinner table, “Just try it.” My oldest took a bite and proclaimed, “WOW, you can even make coleslaw taste good!” High praise from my now 26-year-old.
